# Celestos > Celestos is a private, local-first AI workspace that routes plain-language requests to twelve specialist systems running entirely on your own machine. No subscription, no API key, no cloud required, no data leaves your device. Celestos is designed for people who want the full power of AI — chat, agents, browser automation, video production, image generation, memory, podcast creation, code sandbox, and more — without giving up privacy or depending on external services. Every feature runs offline using local models via llama.cpp. Users can optionally connect cloud AI providers but everything works without internet. The core interaction model is the **Orb** — a conversational AI companion that understands context, remembers past sessions via the Memory Graph, and routes requests to the right specialist system automatically. Users speak to the Orb in natural language; it decides whether the task goes to the browser agent, the video pipeline, the image generator, the Hive swarm, or another system. ## Key capabilities - [Orb Chat](https://celestos.online/feature-orb-chat.html): The central AI companion. Conversational, context-aware, routes to specialist systems automatically. - [Memory Graph](https://celestos.online/feature-graph.html): Persistent, searchable memory across sessions. Semantic connections between ideas, documents, and conversations. - [Hive Agents](https://celestos.online/feature-hive.html): A swarm of parallel AI agents that tackle research, writing, and multi-step tasks simultaneously. - [Chief of Staff](https://celestos.online/feature-chief-of-staff.html): A proactive JARVIS-style briefing engine. Watches your context, surfaces what matters, prepares you for the day. - [Browser Agent](https://celestos.online/feature-browser.html): Reads pages, searches the web, fills forms, takes screenshots, and logs into services autonomously. - [Video Studio](https://celestos.online/feature-video.html): Generates AI voiceover, captions, and b-roll. Edits video from a text prompt. 70+ export formats. - [Image Generation](https://celestos.online/feature-image.html): On-device image generation from a text prompt. No external API required. - [Podcast Engine](https://celestos.online/feature-podcast.html): Turns documents, URLs, or raw notes into a produced podcast with multiple AI voices. - [Ingest](https://celestos.online/feature-ingest.html): Reads PDFs, documents, and web pages into the Memory Graph with LLM-distilled notes. - [Model Benchmarks](https://celestos.online/feature-benchmarks.html): Run any request through multiple local or cloud models simultaneously, compare outputs, route future work to the best performer. - [Skills](https://celestos.online/feature-skills.html): Reusable AI workflows triggered by slash commands or natural language. - [Workspace](https://celestos.online/feature-workspace.html): A full local app builder and sandbox environment. - [Mobile Tunnel](https://celestos.online/feature-mobile-tunnel.html): Access your local Celestos instance from any phone or device on the same network. ## Privacy model All processing is local by default. The local AI engine (llama.cpp) runs models on the user's CPU or GPU. No request goes to Celestos servers. Users who connect optional cloud providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) do so explicitly; those requests are governed by the provider's own privacy policy. Celestos itself never receives prompts, outputs, or files. ## Licensing Celestos is released under the Elastic License 2.0 (ELv2). Free for local use by anyone. Cannot be offered as a managed hosted service by third parties. Commercial licenses available for enterprise embedding or redistribution. ## Early access Celestos is in private early access. Users can join the waitlist at https://celestos.online/download.html or https://celestos.online/#early-access ## Optional - [Features overview](https://celestos.online/features.html): Full list of all twelve specialist systems. - [Workflows](https://celestos.online/workflows.html): Real-world use-case walkthroughs. - [Getting Started](https://celestos.online/getting-started.html): How to prepare for and use your early access invite. - [Docs](https://celestos.online/docs.html): Documentation, changelog, and troubleshooting. - [Terms of Service](https://celestos.online/terms.html): Software license terms (ELv2). - [Privacy Policy](https://celestos.online/privacy.html): What Celestos collects on celestos.online and what stays on your device.
